The incident, however, became the trigger for a large-scale negative reaction from Thai netizens, who flooded the Chinese Embassy's page with comments in order to present the other side of the story through video clip evidence and the perspectives of those who were present at the scene — countering the narrative by pointing out that the Chinese national had broken the rules and had been the first to physically attack the security guard.
A large number of Thai social media users shared and commented on clips of the incident, stating that the root cause was the Chinese national's breach of regulations by cutting the queue and refusing to comply with warnings from event staff. The video footage clearly shows the Chinese national jumping up and kicking the security guard first, which then led the security guard to take the individual to the ground as a defensive measure and to maintain safety in the area.
