Today, 1 August 2026, at 18:39 hrs., His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen graciously proceeded to preside over the opening of the "Royal Project 57" exhibition, held under the concept "Royally Bestowed Flora: Continuing, Preserving, and Building Upon — From the Hills to the City" (The Blooming Legacy of Royal Flora), at CentralWorld Shopping Centre, Pathumwan District, Bangkok. General Kamphanat Ruddit, Privy Councillor, Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation Board, and Chairman of the "Royal Project 57" Organizing Committee, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Khongsak Thiangtham, Acting Rector of Kasetsart University, Mr. Chonwat Uaewattanasakul, President and Chief Executive Officer of Central Pattana Public Company Limited, along with the Foundation's executive team, volunteers, and officials, were in attendance to receive Their Majesties.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen proceeded to the opening ceremony area of "Royal Project 57." His Majesty graciously granted an audience to Mr. Khongsak Thiangtham, Acting Rector of Kasetsart University, who presented the event programme booklet to His Majesty the King, while Miss Mattana Kaewkrajang, Head of the Bangkok Production Centre and Learning Institute Division, presented the programme booklet to Her Majesty the Queen. Subsequently, General Kamphanat Ruddit, Privy Councillor, delivered a report on the objectives of the event.
The Royal Project Foundation, in collaboration with Kasetsart University and Central Pattana Public Company Limited, organized the "Royal Project 57" exhibition from 1–12 August 2026, under the concept "Royally Bestowed Flora: Continuing, Preserving, and Building Upon — From the Hills to the City" (The Blooming Legacy of Royal Flora). The event was held to honour His Majesty the King, Honorary President of the Royal Project Foundation; to honour Her Majesty the Queen on the auspicious occasion of the Royal Celebration of Her Majesty's 4th Cycle Birthday on 3 June 2026; to pay tribute to the royal benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the Boromanaththabophit, Founder of the Royal Project Foundation; and to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, who has continuously supported the Royal Project's operations. The exhibition also aimed to publicize the work and achievements of the Royal Project Foundation, and to promote the sale of produce and products from the Royal Project Foundation, royal personal projects, and agencies supporting the Royal Project Foundation.
Their Majesties then viewed a performance comprising two acts: "Eternal Beauty" (Everlasting Blossom) and "Flowers in Our Hearts" (Bloom of Heart), followed by a viewing of a commemorative video presentation titled "The Blooming Legacy of Royal Flora: Royally Bestowed Flora — Continuing, Preserving, and Building Upon, From the Hills to the City." Their Majesties then proceeded to press the electric button to officially open the "Royal Project 57" exhibition.
Their Majesties subsequently proceeded to view five royal commemorative exhibitions: "From Substitute Crops to the Beauty of Highland Flowers," which conveys the story of the Royal Project's origins — from promoting opium substitute crops to the development of highland fruits and systematic highland agricultural knowledge, before advancing to highland flowers as an alternative crop generating income and sustainability for communities; "The Beauty of Conservation: Queen Sirikit Rose," reflecting Her Majesty's royal initiatives in conserving flower genetics through gracious benevolence for sustainable preservation; "Royally Bestowed Plants: From the Mountains to the Value of Diversity," covering the introduction of non-native plants from fragile highland areas — such as edelweiss and gentian — for research and cultivation under royal initiative, in order to conserve rare plant genetics, build knowledge, and advance sustainable national biodiversity; alongside the display of a new rose variety developed by the Royal Project Foundation — the "Queen Suthida Rose" — a royally bestowed name for the new rose cultivar, beautiful in its meaning of royal compassion. The "Queen Suthida" (Queen Suthida) rose is a new cultivar resulting from research and breeding by the Royal Project Foundation. His Majesty the King graciously granted permission to invoke the royal name of Her Majesty Queen Suthida as the name of the rose cultivar, "Queen Suthida" (Queen Suthida), on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty's 4th Cycle Birthday on 3 June 2026.
This was followed by "Royally Bestowed Plants: Advancing into Research and Development," integrating agricultural science knowledge, creativity, and sustainable utilization to build upon biodiversity toward new opportunities in agriculture and food for the future; and "Continuing, Preserving, and Building Upon the Royal Project's Work," conveying His Majesty the King's royal intention to continue, preserve, and build upon the Royal Project's work toward tangible development in resource conservation, career creation, and quality of life improvement, leading to national stability and sustainability.
His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen then proceeded to view shops selling products from various royal personal projects, including the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother (SUPPORT Foundation); the Khamlung Project under the Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavadi, Princess Royal; the Volunteer Friends in Need (Pha) Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society; the Sai Jai Thai Foundation under Royal Patronage; the Srisavangvatana Foundation under Royal Patronage; the Phu Fa Shop, a royal personal project; Chitralada Royal Villa; Doi Kham Food Products Company Limited; and the Institute of Food Research and Product Development, Kasetsart University.
Their Majesties viewed shops selling produce and products from the Royal Project Foundation, comprising more than 3,000 items, along with a display of notable produce and products from the Foundation, including chocolate cherry tomatoes, Melon 101, sour melon, Janunene glutinous rice, Jakunene jasmine rice, tea and coffee sets, health beverages, kombucha, ice cream, avocado, skincare products derived from edelweiss extracts, handicraft products such as woven fabrics, embroidered rattan baskets, and silverware, as well as potted flowers and plants, organic fertilizers, agricultural inputs, and biological products.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King was photographed together with Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Project Foundation's executive team, representatives of CentralWorld Shopping Centre, and the organizing committee, before Their Majesties returned to Ambara Villa, Dusit Palace.
