The Chinese Ambassador to Thailand briefed the press on the results of the Prime Minister's visit to China, revealing that President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang attach great importance to Thai-Chinese relations. He praised "Anutin" for speaking Chinese and singing the song "Tian Mi Mi," saying the exchange reflected the friendship between the two nations and marked the beginning of a sweeter era. He reaffirmed that economic cooperation is "mutually beneficial," confirmed that China does not support illegal investment, and announced plans to advance AI cooperation as well as open a logistics route through Sichuan Province to support Thai exports to China and Europe.
On 27 July, Zhang Jianwei, the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, held a press conference at the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok on the results of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's visit to the People's Republic of China, during which the Prime Minister met with President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang to elevate bilateral cooperation across multiple dimensions.
Ambassador Zhang said that at the China-Thailand Economic and Trade Forum, Prime Minister Anutin fluently delivered a line in Chinese: "Thailand, keep going! Sichuan, keep going! China, keep going! Friends, keep going!" — leaving a strong impression on those present and drawing thunderous applause, reflecting the friendship and closeness between the peoples of both countries.
Ambassador Zhang also addressed criticism circulating in Thai society over the Thai Prime Minister's singing at a banquet, stating that at a reception hosted by Premier Li Qiang, Prime Minister Anutin sang the song "Tian Mi Mi" — a melody well-known and beloved by both Chinese and Thai people — and received a warm round of applause.
"This song reflects the deep bond between the peoples of our two countries, and we are confident that China-Thailand relations will most certainly enter an even sweeter era," Ambassador Zhang said.
The Chinese Ambassador also expressed confidence that the future of relations between China and Thailand is bright and that there remain vast opportunities for expanding cooperation. Addressing criticism within Thailand over Chinese investment, he said that economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries represents "moving forward together for mutual benefit and shared success," as both sides are interconnected and interdependent, working together to grow their economic interests further.
Ambassador Zhang further emphasized that the Chinese government does not support investment or business operations in Thailand that are unlawful, and stands ready to promote investment that is high-quality, transparent, and beneficial to both sides.
On technological cooperation, Ambassador Zhang revealed that President Xi Jinping has announced a support plan for developing countries whereby, over the next five years, China will provide hands-on artificial intelligence (AI) training for 5,000 personnel and establish an international AI application center for ASEAN and regional organizations — in line with Thailand's needs for developing digital infrastructure and human resources.
In addition, China is prepared to leverage the capabilities of Sichuan Province as a logistics hub to facilitate the transportation of Thai goods — particularly fresh and frozen agricultural products such as durian and longan, as well as electronic components, rubber, and other products — into southwestern China and onward directly and more rapidly to European markets.
