At 11:30 p.m. on 27 July 2026, at Chaiyaphruek Police Station, Pol. Col. Wuttichai Sukhonthawit, Superintendent of Chaiyaphruek Police Station, together with Pol. Lt. Col. Akkraphat Chayawanik, Deputy Superintendent (Investigations), Chaiyaphruek Police Station; Pol. Lt. Col. Chathawat Siribenjasakdi, Inspector (Investigations), Chaiyaphruek Police Station; Pol. Lt. Jirayuwat Yotnan, Deputy Inspector (Investigations), Chaiyaphruek Police Station; and investigative police officers of Chaiyaphruek Police Station, jointly arrested: 1. MR. LEBAO JIANG (Le Bao Jiang), aged 49, Chinese national (wearing a black-green jacket), pursuant to Nonthaburi Provincial Court arrest warrant No. J.656/2026, issued 11 May 2026; and 2. MR. FEIXING HONG (Fei Xing Hong), aged 49, Chinese national (wearing a black jacket), pursuant to Nonthaburi Provincial Court arrest warrant No. J.658/2026, issued 11 May 2026. The two were apprehended at the arrivals immigration passenger hall on the second floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Nong Prue Sub-district, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, along with items prepared for committing offences, namely: 1. clothing, 2. a shoulder bag, 3. shoes, 4. a balaclava/head cover, 5. gloves, and other items. They were charged with "jointly committing theft in a dwelling by damaging barriers designed to protect persons or property, entering through an opening not intended as a human passageway, disguising their faces or otherwise concealing their identities to prevent recognition, committing the offence jointly by two or more persons, at night."
The background to the case: on 9 and 11 April 2026, all three suspects — 1. MR. LEBAO JIANG (Le Bao Jiang), 2. MR. FEIXING HONG (Fei Xing Hong), and 3. MR. WENHUA CHEN (Wen Hua A-Chen) *** not yet apprehended *** — broke into and committed theft at three houses within a well-known luxury housing estate in Bang Tanai Sub-district, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, stealing a number of items with a total estimated value of approximately one million baht.
Investigative police officers urgently reviewed CCTV footage from the scene and established that all three suspects had used a ride-hailing service (Grab) to travel to the vicinity of the crime scene, then proceeded on foot to an empty plot of land behind the luxury estate and climbed over the fence to commit the offences. The suspects subsequently fled, sold the stolen goods in other provinces, and returned to China. Police collected evidence to apply for arrest warrants and coordinated with immigration police officers to wait and apprehend the suspects, eventually learning that two of the suspects (suspect No. 1 and suspect No. 2) had re-entered Thailand on this date.
Pol. Lt. Col. Chathawat Siribenjasakdi, Inspector (Investigations) of Chaiyaphruek Police Station, stated that during the previous month of April, victims came to report that their homes had been burgled. Through the collection of evidence, it was found that all three suspects were Chinese nationals who had deliberately travelled to Thailand during the extended holiday period to commit crimes. They stayed at a hotel in the Don Mueang area of Bangkok and used a ride-hailing service (Grab) to travel to a well-known luxury housing estate in Bang Tanai Sub-district, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, where they committed burglary at four houses. They then took the stolen items to sell in Pattaya, Chon Buri Province, around 12 April 2026, and after completing the sale, returned to China on 14 April 2026.
Police officers then checked the hotel records and obtained the true full names of all the perpetrators, and issued arrest warrants for three individuals. However, only two of the perpetrators were apprehended today, as the third did not travel back to Thailand. The two were taken along with items believed to have been prepared for committing repeat offences. During initial questioning, both suspects continued to deny all charges. An interpreter will need to be arranged by the investigating officers for formal questioning the following day. Regarding the stolen property, the items taken by the suspects consisted mainly of gold necklaces, cash, and branded handbags, with a combined value of approximately one million baht per incident.
This operation was carried out in accordance with the policy of the Royal Thai Police and the Commander of Provincial Police Region 1, which directed Nonthaburi Province police officers — under the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander — to intensify efforts to suppress transnational crime.
Finally, the public is urged to be the eyes and ears of the authorities: if any Chinese nationals entering Thailand appear suspicious, please notify police officers immediately for investigation, as they could be criminals entering the country to commit offences such as in this case.
