PM witnesses ceremony presenting honor insignia to Indonesian President, reflecting the friendship between the Thai and Indonesian militaries and their robust security cooperation.
On Monday, 3 August 2026, at 19:30 hrs., following a joint press conference between Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia.
Following the press conference, the Prime Minister witnessed a ceremony in which honor insignia from the Army Special Warfare Command were presented to the President of Indonesia, in recognition of his role and contributions to promoting security cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia, and to reflect the close bonds between the armed forces of both countries.
Ms. Rachada Dhnadirek, Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the honor insignia presented on the occasion consisted of: a red beret, the symbol of special operations forces; a combat knife with a red lanyard, signifying combat readiness, bravery, and the honor of special forces soldiers; parachutist wings, the badge awarded upon completion of an Airborne course; and a commemorative medal, presented as a mark of honor and friendship between the special operations units of both countries.
In addition, the International Counter-Terrorism Operations Center also presented a unit shield and wings to commemorate counter-terrorism cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia, with particular reference to Operation "Woyla," which has been recognized as one of the most successful hostage rescue missions and stands as proof of the outstanding professionalism of Indonesia's Kopassus unit — a contribution that has played a significant role in strengthening security cooperation and deepening the long-standing bonds of friendship between Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia.
"This occasion reflects the close relationship between Thailand and Indonesia as friendly nations and fellow founding members of ASEAN, who stand ready to build further on their cooperation in security, personnel capability development, and responses to emerging threats, in order to jointly strengthen stability and peace in the region," said Ms. Rachada.
