"Chaichanok" doesn't care, pushes full throttle on AI Passport — insists it's worth the price, quality assured, free access for Thais, supports scrutiny

The Minister remains adamant about pressing ahead fully with AI Passport, confident it is worth the price, quality-assured, and free for Thais to access, while welcoming oversight.

At Government House today (31 July), Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, party-list MP and Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, in his capacity as Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE), spoke about the case in which Mrs. Karndie Liewpairot, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, had submitted a petition at the Ministry of DE calling for the cancellation of the AI Passport project. He said there was no problem — there had been prior coordination indicating that she wanted to come and submit proposals for improvement, though the outcome was not what had been explained. Regardless, he said, they fully support scrutiny of the matter. However, based on multiple rounds of discussion, he is quite confident in the supervisory and responsible side of things — that they have made this project worth the price and of quality, enabling the public to access quality AI for free for a period of one year. Therefore, he said, they will push forward at full speed.
