RT's second half soars — eyeing 5 billion baht in new contracts, targeting 15% margin

Right Tunnelling reveals its second-half 2026 business outlook as continuing on a strong growth trajectory, preparing to deliver 16 projects worth a combined 2.5 billion baht, pressing ahead to bid for 5 billion baht in new work, targeting a backlog of 7.5 billion baht for the year, while expanding its O&M and RT Geothermal businesses to generate recurring income alongside efficient cost management — reaffirming full-year revenue of 3.9 billion baht and a gross profit margin of no less than 15%.

Mr. Chawalit Thanomthin, Chief Executive Officer of Right Tunnelling Public Company Limited, or RT, a specialist in tunnel excavation, civil engineering, and comprehensive geotechnical services, disclosed that the company's business direction for the second half of 2026 shows a continued improvement trend. The company is preparing to deliver 16 projects with a combined value of approximately 2.5 billion baht, and will progressively recognise revenue from its existing backlog — including the Mae Taeng–Mae Ngat water conveyance tunnel, Contract 2, Chiang Mai Province; the construction of double-track railway tunnels on the Den Chai–Chiang Rai–Chiang Khong line, Contracts 1 and 2; the construction of the underground drainage tunnel beneath Phra Khanong Canal from the Phra Khanong tunnel pumping station to Suan Oi Canal; as well as slope protection works. These projects are expected to result in steady and consistently strong revenue recognition throughout the remainder of the year.

In addition, the company plans to participate in bidding for several infrastructure and large-scale construction projects with a combined value of approximately 5 billion baht, focusing on work that aligns with the company's expertise, such as tunnel and dam projects. The company has set a backlog target of 7.5 billion baht for this year. As of 31 March 2026, the company held a total backlog valued at 5,575 million baht to support growth in the next phase.

At the same time, the company has plans to build on businesses that generate recurring income by expanding the scope of its operations and maintenance (O&M) work — a business segment with short execution periods and a growing demand outlook, driven by the need to maintain and extend the service life of both public and private infrastructure. This represents a significant opportunity to increase revenue and effectively diversify risk away from large-scale projects. The revenue target for this segment is set at 20 million baht for the current year.

Furthermore, RT Geothermal Co., Ltd. (RT Geothermal), a subsidiary engaged in alternative energy, is aligned with the government's direction toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 (Net Zero 2050). The subsidiary is pioneering the harnessing of geothermal energy in Thailand for power generation, as well as large-scale cooling systems and cascaded geothermal use — in collaboration with government agencies and research institutions. This extends the company's engineering expertise into the energy business and positions it to capture future revenue opportunities.

On cost management, the company places importance on materials procurement planning, project management, and efficient resource allocation in order to control costs and sustain profitability. The stabilisation of prices for key construction materials and energy is considered a supporting factor for the company's cost management. The company continues to closely monitor liquidity risks that could affect its financial costs, while pressing ahead with continuous improvements to internal operational efficiency in order to elevate performance across all dimensions.

"The overall construction industry outlook for the second half of 2026 is supported by the gradual opening of tenders from both the public and private sectors, as well as the approval of the 2027 annual budget, which will drive infrastructure projects forward on a continuous basis. RT is ready to take on new work alongside efficient cost management and operations, so that this year's performance meets the revenue target of 3.9 billion baht and maintains a gross profit margin of no less than 15%," said Mr. Chawalit.
