The Phra Phutthabat Municipality, Saraburi Province, invites everyone to join the "Tak Bat Dok Khao Phansa Tradition and Presentation of the Royally Granted Phansa Candles" for 2026, taking place from 27–30 July 2026 at Wat Phra Phutthabat Ratchaworamahawihan, Saraburi Province.
The Tak Bat Dok Khao Phansa tradition is an important custom of the people of Phra Phutthabat, held during the Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa) season. Buddhist devotees bring "dok khao phansa" — the seasonal flower of this time of year — to offer to monks in alms, a distinctive practice found nowhere else in the world, and one that reflects the values of Buddhism, culture, and the way of life of the community, passed down to the present day.
Activities are held throughout all four days of the event, including the opening ceremony and a procession presenting the royally granted Phansa candles, the Tak Bat Dok Khao Phansa alms-giving ceremony, the ceremony of washing the Buddha's footprint, paying homage to the Sacred Buddha Footprint, receiving a sacred dok khao phansa powder tablet as a souvenir, as well as cultural and artistic performances, shows by well-known artists, and stalls selling food, goods, and local products within the event grounds.
