Kylian Mbappé, captain of France, has become the first player to win the Golden Boot at two World Cups, after finishing as the tournament's top scorer in 2026.
The Real Madrid forward found the net 10 times in 8 games, surpassing Argentina captain Lionel Messi by two goals.
Looking back to 2022, the 27-year-old Mbappé claimed the top-scorer honour by netting 8 goals in Qatar.
The former Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain player also became the first player to score 10 goals at a World Cup since legendary German striker Gerd Müller did so in 1970.
Only Just Fontaine of France (13 goals / 1958) and Sándor Kocsis of Hungary (11 goals / 1954) have scored more than Mbappé in a single tournament.
Mbappé now holds the all-time World Cup scoring record with 22 goals, one more than Messi.
Meanwhile, two-time world champions Spain swept the remaining awards, with captain Rodri claiming the Golden Ball for best player of the tournament, goalkeeper Unai Simón taking the Golden Glove, and defender Pau Cubarsí winning the Best Young Player award.
