Hats off to the demon-level discipline of Nadech Kugimiya, the super-hot leading man who chose to cut water and starve himself — transforming from a handsome, athletic-built young man into an emaciated, dried-out, malnourished figure with veins bulging across every muscle group, no filter needed — all to play the role of a prisoner. Facebook user Jubfriendly Kaewchang posted the clip along with a caption that read: "Nadech in the role of 'Ai Nung' in 'Kon Dueat Thuang Khaen' — a role for which he sacrificed himself by cutting water and food intake to an extreme level, to make his body as gaunt and dried out as physically possible during filming.
The result was a level of emaciation where veins pop, muscles are defined yet small — not the kind of muscles you get from a gym or working out, not an athlete's muscles, but the muscles of a prisoner: a body worked hard with insufficient nutrition.
