CATC Reaffirms International Standards, Passes Language Testing Center Assessment from CAAT as License Holder, in Response to Government Policy to Elevate Aviation Infrastructure to World-Class
The Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC), a state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport, has reaffirmed its confidence in aviation personnel development. Most recently, it passed the assessment of the License Holder Language Proficiency Testing Center (CATC ICAO Language Proficiency Testing Center: LPTC) conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). The assessment result found "no findings" (Finding), reflecting the quality of operations that strictly comply with the criteria and international standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Mr. Phatthrapong Phatthraprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed that CATC has been able to continuously maintain its high standards, stating that the Ministry of Transport is committed to accelerating the elevation of the country's infrastructure to international standards (World-Class Infrastructure), alongside developing the capacity of air transport personnel to support the growth of the aviation industry. The fact that CATC, through its English Language and Aviation Support Division — which serves as the primary unit managing and conducting the testing — was able to pass this assessment with no findings, is considered an important mechanism in driving the government's policy to elevate aviation standards into concrete outcomes, as well as building sustainable confidence at the international level.
Ms. Phaknат Makсhuai, Governor of the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC), stated that CATC's License Holder Language Proficiency Testing Center plays an extremely important role in assessing the English language proficiency of aviation personnel, namely pilots and air traffic controllers, which is a critical qualification for the issuance and maintenance of personnel licenses in accordance with ICAO requirements, in order to ensure accurate and maximally safe communication in flight operations.
"Passing this assessment on this occasion confirms the quality of the testing process, the readiness of personnel, and the operational systems of the Center, which meet international standards. CATC stands ready to continue its development in order to be a key force in supporting the safety of the aviation system and the development of the country's aviation workforce going forward," the CATC Governor said.
