Baresi, AC Milan Legend, Dies at Age 66

Franco Baresi, a legendary player of Italian club AC Milan, has died at the age of 66. No cause of death was specified.

AC Milan said in a statement on social media: "The entire history of AC Milan is filled with grief at the passing of Franco Baresi. His example and integrity will be forever written into the DNA of the club."

"Just like his iconic No. 6 shirt, AC Milan extends its deepest condolences to Franco Baresi's family during this difficult time — a loss that every Rossoneri player feels as well."

Baresi played for Milan — and Milan alone — for 20 years before hanging up his boots, achieving enormous success: winning the Serie A title six times, the European Cup / UEFA Champions League three times, and also claiming the World Cup title in 1982 with Italy.
