Kimi Antonelli, driving for Mercedes, claimed victory in the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix in Belgium on Sunday, 19 July, extending his lead in the individual drivers' championship standings to 45 points.
The 19-year-old Antonelli crossed the chequered flag first, finishing 1.952 seconds ahead of second-placed Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, with four-time world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull completing the podium in third.
Meanwhile, George Russell, Antonelli's teammate who had entered the final race 25 points behind in the standings, retired from the race on the opening lap after colliding with Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari.
Hamilton finished fourth amid an incident in which a mechanic was struck during a pit stop. Although he escaped punishment from the stewards, Ferrari imposed a fine on the seven-time world champion.
With this race concluded, Antonelli, the Italian driver, added 25 points to his tally, bringing his total to 204 points, followed by Russell on 159 points and Hamilton in third place with 154 points, before the series moves on to the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring on 24–26 July.
