Come and enjoy the "Colours of Nature, in Honour of the Queen Mother" event, held under the concept "Royal Compassion — Mother of the Land, Reviving the Soil Towards Sustainable Agriculture" — a tribute to Her Majesty's boundless royal grace, featuring a breathtaking field of over 260,000 flowering plants. The event runs 8–13 August 2026 at Queen Sirikit Park, Chatuchak District.
The "Colours of Nature, in Honour of the Queen Mother" event, held under the concept "Royal Compassion — Mother of the Land, Reviving the Soil Towards Sustainable Agriculture," is scheduled to take place from 8–13 August 2026, from 10:00–20:00 hrs., at Queen Sirikit Park, Chatuchak District. The event is the result of collaboration between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Queen Sirikit Park Foundation, and a network of 33 partner organisations, to honour and pay tribute to the boundless royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.
For this occasion, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, through the Department of Environment, has prepared a spectacular venue by adorning it with over 200,000 ornamental and flowering plants in a variety of colours, including cockscomb, globe amaranth, impatiens, American marigold, Thunbergia, periwinkle, cosmos, zinnia, spider flower, celosia, mixed ixora, marguerite, aglaonema, caladium, various fern species, ixora, and orchids. In addition, eight varieties of patumma (Curcuma) are on display — Snow White, Lanna Snow, Shiro Yuki, Daeng Prakhai, Krachiao, Chomphu Mali, Som Impress, and White Cream — totalling over 60,000 more plants, in order to create a magnificent landscape and photo check-in spots to welcome visitors in a manner befitting the royal occasion. The Administration is also coordinating and providing full facilitation in collaboration with partner agencies from both the public and private sectors.
Furthermore, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is co-hosting an honorary exhibition under the theme "From Royal Compassion… Towards Carrying Forward the Royal Vision of 'Forests in the City,'" conveying the royal vision of Her Majesty The Queen Mother, which reflects the symbiotic relationship between "water" and "forests," as expressed in her royal words: "If His Majesty the King is water, I shall be the forest." This serves as the foundation for the restoration of natural resources and the conservation of watershed forests. The exhibition also presents information on "5 Species of Trees Planted by Her Majesty" across four public parks in Bangkok: Eugenia (Plong Yai) and Chan In at Queen Sirikit Park; Red Padauk at Benchasiri Park; Mok Ratchini at Benjakitti Park; and Mango at Suan Luang Rama IX Park — reflecting the growth from seeds of royal compassion into "small urban forests" that help enhance biodiversity and sustainably improve the quality of life for city dwellers.
The event also brings together exhibitions from partner network agencies, including an exhibition on model farms and model marine farms under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother; an exhibition titled "Under the Shade of Royal Compassion, Carrying Forward the Royal Vision — Preserving Water, Preserving Forests," by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; and an exhibition titled "Royal Compassion — Mother of the Land, Reviving the Soil Towards Sustainable Agriculture," by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
It is a most gracious royal honour that His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to grant royal trophy cups for the first-place winners in competitions for 8 plant species: caladium (Bon Si), Kaew Kanchana, euphorbia (Poi Sian), snake plant (Lin Mangkon), croton (Kosan), Phaya Mangkon, anthurium (Na Wua Bai), and bonsai, as well as for competitions for new plant varieties developed by farmers — Busara Kham and Saneh Chan — which will receive first-place trophy cups from the Queen Sirikit Park Foundation.
On this occasion, the public is invited to attend and pay respects to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who will graciously preside over the opening of the event in a private capacity on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, at 17:00 hrs., at the area in front of the Ratchaphruek Building, Suan Chak Phu Pa Su Maha Nathi, within Queen Sirikit Park.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration cordially invites the public to visit the event, view the honorary exhibitions, watch ornamental plant demonstrations and competitions, and browse and purchase goods and agricultural products from the Rice Department, the Sericulture Department, the Highland Research and Development Institute, the Model Farm Project, and a plant market — while also enjoying photo check-in spots amid the flower fields and orchid garden, from 8–13 August 2026, 10:00–20:00 hrs., at Queen Sirikit Park, Chatuchak District.
